Study Seeks Best Timing to Feed Children on Ventilators

A new study at Akron Children’s Hospital seeks to identify the optimal way to feed critically ill children who are on ventilators. Ann-Marie Brown, PhD(c), CPNP-AC/PC, CCRN, recently received a grant from the Delta Omega Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International at the University of Akron for the study. Akron Children’s Hospital recently completed a two-year pilot program of providing telepsychiatry services to children with mental and behavioral health needs in their primary care physician's office, and is now looking to expand the program. Read more

Picture Tool to Locate Pain Wins First Place at Conference

Akron Children's Phyllis Mesko, RN, recently won first place at the International Conference for PeriAnaesthesia Nurses in Dublin, Ireland, for her research on using pictures to help special needs kids identify where they are experiencing pain after surgery. Read more
