NIH Funds Study on Eye Disorder, Reading Problems

An Akron Children’s Hospital vision researcher has been awarded a five-year, $467,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to study whether standard treatment for children with convergence insufficiency helps those who also have an attention-reading disability, a common combination of disorders. Read more

Research Focuses on Improving Health of Local Refugees
Akron Children's Hospital's Locust Pediatric Care Group cares for many children from refugee families. Several members of the group's team recently conducted studies on better ways to deliver healthcare to this growing community, and they presented their research at the 2014 North American Refugee Health Conference in mid-June. Read more
