| A sweet taste of gratitude |
Visitors to Akron Children’s will enjoy a sweet surprise: a 6.5-foot-tall gingerbread house in the timeline lobby. The gingerbread house is made of nearly 5 combined pounds of ginger and cinnamon and took nearly 150 hours to complete. Creator Doug Cooper has been giving back to the hospital in creative ways since his son received life-saving care in 2004. Read more

| Charlie Solley named director of government relations |

Charlie Solley was recently named the director of government relations at Akron Children’s. In his position, Solley focuses on the government’s role in pediatric healthcare, including state and federal regulations, funding of programs and working with legislators. Read more |

| Simulations help design efficient ER |
| Thirty-minute simulations were recently played out at the warehouse in Green Township to assist the ER team with its continuing effort to design the most efficient ER, which will be part of the hospital’s new critical care tower. The simulations helped refine the details of the space and determine how it actually works in practice with a patient. Read more |
